FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Surgery Unified, the company behind SurgeOn, the professional community for over 50,000 medical professionals, today announced a collaboration with Callagy Recovery Corporation, a national medical revenue recovery and No Surprises Act (NSA) arbitration firm. Under the agreement, every verified member of SurgeOn can gain access to Callagy Recovery’s expertise as a member benefit.
The partnership is deliberately structured as an education and access agreement rather than a commercial or sales arrangement. Its single purpose is to make sure surgeons are fairly paid for the work they perform — particularly on out-of-network and underpaid claims that too often go unchallenged.
“SurgeOn was never built to make money from surgeons — it was built to enable surgeons realize their value and give access to often-unknown resources. Every surgeon deserves to understand what their work is worth and to be paid accordingly, and our job is to give them the knowledge and access to get there. An education-and-access model isn’t a strategy we chose, we feel it’s the natural expression of why we exist. When our members are better informed and better connected, they’re better rewarded. This has always been the point
Mark Soliman, MD, MBA, CEO, Surgery Unified.
Many surgeons never pursue reimbursement they are legally entitled to, simply because the arbitration and appeals process is complex, time-consuming, and unfamiliar. Through this collaboration, SurgeOn members will be able to learn how the No Surprises Act, independent dispute resolution, and underpayment recovery actually work — and, if they choose, connect directly with Callagy Recovery to explore whether their claims qualify.
Consistent with SurgeOn’s founding principle that its members are never the product, the agreement involves no selling to surgeons within the platform and no sharing or brokering of member data. Callagy Recovery’s role is to inform and to provide access; the decision to engage rests entirely with the individual surgeon.
“Surgeons spend years mastering their craft and then hand their billing to a system that was never designed to pay them fairly. The No Surprises Act changed that — it created a binding federal remedy — but 90% of eligible claims still go unfiled because the process is complex, the deadlines are unforgiving, and most providers simply don’t have the infrastructure to fight it. That is exactly what Callagy Recovery was built for. We advance every filing fee, win over 90% of cases, and recover at 93%. Every surgeon in SurgeON deserves to know what they’re owed. We’re here to make sure they get it, at zero cost and zero risk.”
